Order picking is a labour-intensive process that is found in most large warehouses, on production sites or at e-commerce facilities. Toyota offers a wide range of trucks to assist with order picking, from ground level all the way up to 12.1 m picking height. To ensure safe and ergonomic working conditions for the operators, all Toyota Optio order pickers have been designed with comfort, safety and performance in mind.

Low level picking

Optimal product fit thanks to a wide range of configurations

The order picker range of Toyota comes in many variations to best serve the type of load and the area it needs to operate in. A few features: 

  • Different fork lengths for both pallet & roller cage handling
  • Scissor forks to lift the forks to a comfortable working position (max lift height 800 mm)
  • Platform lift on low level order pickers to elevate the operator about 1.2 m above the floor. It is equipped with a foot switch for hands-free lowering.
  • High level picking models with 10.5 m platform height
  • Mast model to use as order picker and stacker
  • Walkthrough models to handle bulky or large loads

High performance and efficiency

Order pickers are used intensively, often in 2 to 3-shift operations. Lithium-ion battery technology is highly suitable as it is easier and faster to charge than lead-acid batteries and allows for opportunity charging. This eliminates the need to change batteries during the day, maximising overall productivity rates.


When working in low-temperature areas, it’s advised to keep the trucks in the cold as long as possible to avoid any condensation. Toyota order pickers are available with a heated Li-ion battery option that allows charging in cold environments for more productivity and less condensation issues.
