With a score of 79 out of 100, Toyota Material Handling Europe is among the top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis. Obtaining this result for a fourth consecutive year really is an outstanding achievement.
Over time, making the EcoVadis’ Business Sustainability Risk and Performance Index, or obtaining good sustainability ratings overall, has become somewhat of a competition. It is a race - against time - where a lot of companies are eager to get into the top 1%. Therefore, it is getting harder every year, to keep up and accelerate fast enough.
“We could see from the overall scores that Toyota Material Handling Europe has delivered even better results compared to last year. With that said, it is not a given that we as an organisation are awarded with the Platinum level,” says Carina Strömberg, senior HR (Human Resources) Specialist and dedicated Sustainability Champion.
Not only EcoVadis has raised its expectations on Toyota Material Handling Europe’s sustainability work. Customers have as well. In fact, the whole supply chain needs to be scrutinised to be able to control a company’s business impact on environment and society. From suppliers to factories, from local offices to the aftermarket, all is under review.
"Kaizen and Challenge are two of Toyota's core values, and we continuously focus on the things that can be improved," says José Maria Gener, Vice President Sales & Marketing at Toyota Material Handling Europe, "But when you get a rating like this, it is good to take some distance, and reflect on how nice it is to work for a company ranked in the Top1% when it comes to such important matters as environment, safe & healthy working conditions, human rights and ethics, among others."
EcoVadis is the world's most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. The EcoVadis evidence-based recognition proves that Toyota Material Handling Europe continues to progress in its long-term sustainability goals.
