Sustainability Advisor

Being a leader in sustainability is part of the foundations of our future business success in Toyota Material Handling Europe. As the first company in our industry to publish a sustainability report in 2013, we are now rated in the top 3% on transparency amongst 50,000 suppliers by sustainable supply chain rating agency EcoVadis. Today we are looking to hire a new colleague with a passion for people and planet to help us embed our sustainability strategy across the organisation.

Sustainability Communications

  • Deliver annual sustainability reports in line with deadlines and budgets.
  • Lead transformation of sustainability reporting in line with changing external and internal requirements.
  • Deliver one good practice case story from the network to our marketing team every month.
  • Drive internal sustainability communications via our digital workplace and other available channels.

Sustainability Performance

  • Benchmark our sustainability performance against clients and competitors.
  • Manage timeline and budgets for own projects and recurring tasks.
  • Drive implementation and renewal of European level policies on health & safety, environment etc.
  • Promote environmental month, health & safety week and other employee engagement activities.

Sustainability Governance

  • Support a group of 30 local and functional sustainability champions to develop their local leadership.
  • Organise monthly web-based sustainability meetings and knowledge sharing sessions. 
  • Organise annual conference to share good practices across European operations.
  • Follow-up on the implementation of public sustainability targets.
  • Assist business functions in defining and embedding sustainability targets in their business planning cycles.

A formal background in sustainability, environment, health and safety is a bonus but is certainly not required. What is of key importance to this role is to have sufficient years of experience to demonstrate that:


  • You have a track record in project management
  • You enjoy working in an international environment and are prepared to travel occasionally
  • You are comfortable in processing, organising and analysing data in Excel and databases
  • You are good in story telling (writing, presentation skills, social media…)
  • You like continuously learning new skills and knowledge, on the job as well as through self-learning
  • You enjoy developing and inspiring others across the business in sustainability
  • You demonstrate a keen interest in how sustainability can support business strategy and vice versa
  • You are fluent in English, additional languages are a bonus
